How many porta potties does a Valley jobsite need?

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 Table D-1 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, 1 seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers above 20, and 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50 at 200 or more. In McAllen summer heat, Eric Rental Works recommends 1 unit per 15 workers and a second weekly service.

Where should a jobsite unit go?

Set the unit on firm, level ground inside the lot line, within about 25 feet of where a service truck can park, and in shade if possible. Keep it out of the street and right-of-way. After heavy Valley rain, caliche drives hold up; black clay lots may wait a day for service.

“If a city inspector takes a drive through there and sees it sitting out there, he is going to give us a call.”

How does jobsite billing work?

Jobsite rentals bill every 28 days at the same rate after the first cycle, which carries the one-time delivery fee. Weekly service is included. Billing stops the day you call for pickup, and the truck collects the unit within 1–2 business days.

Questions callers asked us

How many porta potties does my crew need?

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 Table D-1 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, then 1 seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers, and 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers at 200 or more. Valley heat is a good reason to go above the minimum.

Do I have to pay for a full month if I only need it two weeks?

Usually yes, and it is the cheaper option. Jobsite units bill in 28-day cycles with weekly cleaning included. A weekly rate costs more per day because the delivery and pickup trips still happen. Call for pickup the day the work ends and billing stops that day.

Can it go at the end of the street instead of my yard?

Keep it on your own property. If a city inspector sees a unit in the street or right-of-way, the rental company gets a call. Place it just inside your property line, on a flat spot, ideally in shade.

Will it smell in McAllen heat?

Heat speeds up odor, and Valley afternoons regularly pass 100°F in summer. Keep the unit in shade if you can, turn the vent away from seating, and keep weekly service. Busy summer jobsites should add a second service visit. One caller put it plainly: as the week goes on, heat makes it progressively worse.

How do I end a long-term rental?

Call or text dispatch at (956) 396-3589. Long-term units are not picked up automatically, so billing continues until you request pickup. Billing stops on the day you call, and the unit is collected within 1–2 business days.

Can you set up restrooms after a hurricane or flood?

Yes, as roads allow. Restoration crews, shelters and homes without water service can rent units on short notice after Valley storms. During hurricane season (June 1–November 30), we stake units on open sites and pull or secure them before a named storm when asked.
